49/365 – My Students Never Cease to Amaze Me!

15 Feb

A student of mine made this “cell” cake and brought it to class today! This wasn’t a required project, he didn’t ask for bonus points, he just did it because he wanted to! He did a nice job of representing all of the cell organelles, and the cake was yummy! It had a layer of ice cream (birthday cake flavored) in between two cake layers. Needless to say, we gobbled it up!

That kid is awesome. You must be an amazing teacher. Go you, and go great students! Plus…who doesn’t want to eat ribosomes?!

Thank you, Cassie! He is a great student, along with many others! I am humbled by your compliment! It is a job that I genuinely love, and I am rewarded every day by students like this one who go above and beyond!

Thanks, Cowboy! It was great! And yes, very creative! I especially liked the Lindor truffle used for the nucleolus! 🙂
