Well, not exactly “down the strip” in this photo. That cadence just came to mind when I took It. I don’t know all the words, it’s just something I’ve heard my husband say. Maybe someone can finish the cadence for me! 🙂
Apparently, our property is beneath the training flight path of the C-130s coming from the Jacksonville Air Force Base. They fly over all the time, sometimes so low that it seems you could reach up and touch them. I love to watch them fly over, but today was the first day I was able to get a picture of one.
We spent the weekend in Western Arkansas, in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. Phil was working, and I was along for the ride! Today was spent at our friend, Gena’s place. It’s a beautiful property that borders the Ouachita River. I took over 200 photos, but I’m just going to share a few tonight.
More to come tomorrow!
I am working on a project for Read Across America Day, which is next Friday. We have a door decorating contest at our school in honor of the day, and to promote literacy. I asked students to pose with a book. Since I teach science, all the books featured are in the field of science. I always have plenty of willing volunteers when I pull out the camera! Here are some shots that I took today.
One of my students actually took her book home to read over the weekend! Yay!
